About The Course
INCEPTION
The Department of Visual communication was instituted in 2018.
OBJECTIVE
- Visual Communication is a creative process that blends art and technology to communicate ideas and information visually. A visual designer works with an array of communication mediums and tools in order to convey message to the audience. The Department aims at providing real time experiences in communication, photography, journalism and such skills that equip them to cater to the needs of the media and entertainment industry.
- The course will enrich them to expand their specific skills and creativity so as to keep pace with the constantly altering requirements of the industry.

Activities during the Academic Year 2019-20
Photography Workshop And Photo Editing Workshop
- The Department conducted one week workshop in June 2019 on photography and photo editing for the students to enrich the knowledge of photography and photo editing. Mr.Sarath and Mr.Ashok Kumar were the guests from D2 studios who taught basic elements, principles, forms, aesthetics and many more details of photography and photo editing.
Workshop on Journalism Ethics
Journalism ethics, reporting techniques and writing for media was discussed by Mr. Maanah, senior reporter and editor of THAAI online news portal.
RADIO WORKSHOP
- Students attended radio workshop conducted by Mother Teresa College where they learnt about radio production and how community radio works..
WORKSHOP
Script To Screen, a workshop was inaugurated by Mr. R. D. Balaji (HOD) SRM School of Film Technology.
Food Photography
- Chief Guest Kalaimamani Seshadri Sukumar (brand ambassador for canon EOS) spoke on sports photography. Ms. Kiran Jadhav (Advertising photographer) taught the basic tips and tricks for food photography .

- Mr. Akshay Kumar senior graphic designer from Zolo corporate gave a lecture on ‘Graphic Designing’
