I am Varsha Ramakrishnan, an alumna of the BSc Microbiology program, graduating in 2020 from the Department of Microbiology. During my time at college, I actively contributed to the music scene, securing a place in the college music band through auditions organized by the Senate members. From 2017 to 2020, I played diverse roles as a vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist.
Additionally, I was a proud member of the college choir. Representing our college at various cultural fests organized by institutions like Shasun Jain College, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, and Ethiraj College for Women, among others, was a fulfilling experience. In the academic year 2018-2019, I had the privilege of being part of the MJC Senate Family, serving as the Joint Cultural Secretary (Science). I was part of the second batch in the college history and it allowed us to set the stage and culture for the future batches to grace this esteemed institution. To this date, the friends I made at college are still an integral part of my life. I served as the cultural secretary and hosted the first inter-college cultural event and we came up with so many creative events during the year that allowed us to feel closer as a unit and raise funds for the college events. I look back at the days with fondness. I went on to finish my MBA in finance through correspondence soon after my graduation while working a few jobs that included teaching, tutoring and a call center gig .I started my career as a Business Analyst in Hewlett Packard in 2002 and was instrumental in transitioning work into India’s shared service center from multiple European countries.
